Hi peeps.

I received my new PHEV yesterday. Grey. It's great! There are some basics that I cant find a solution for...mhopefully you can help?

1. I don't seem to have an option to change GPS guidance voice? I only can change volume.

2. Is there a way to set a chirp sound when the car is locked and unlocked? Currently only the turn lights blink. Not useful to finding your car in a big car park

3. How to import a single contact from iPhone (6 plus) to the vehicle address book? It says it's waiting but I don't know what I need to do on iPhone side to send it. I've already downloaded my whole contacts. However want to set up some on the vehicle address book for quicker calling as there does not to be an ability to set favourite contacts.

4. Is it possible to set auto lock after driving off? E.g at 15 miles per hour?

5. Any ideas how many miles 1 hour of standard socket based charging would get you? Eg if I have 10 miles left of EV mode, what would 1 hour standard charge get me... And 2 hours etc. I know from empty, 5 hours would get me 30 miles.... Therefore is it 6 miles per hour of charging?

Thanks!!!

1. You can only change the voice by changing the language.
2. No
3. Why would you want to import a single contact? Isn't it much easier to import all contacts? I find it easiest to do so through voice control.
4. No. Automatic doorlock is not allowed in the EU nowadays. It seems to be possible to activate it by OBD, but it would result in an MOT failure.
5. The amount charged per hour depends on the state of charge of the battery. It goes rather quickly from empty to slow down as charge increases. So it is not possible to give a single value.
On top of that the number of miles varies widely with driving conditions, driving style, wind force and direction, temperature, etc.

I am not sure about the legalities of auto door lock, I have never heard it being outlawed. All my other cars have this feature and it is enabled on at least one of these and passes mot without an issue.
If it can be enabled in MMCS then turn it on.

Edit: a quick search on Google and it seems it is now outlawed on new cars. If it can be enabled in MMCS then you could still turn it on and remember to turn it off before each mot, but I do not think this is tested as part of the mot.

Regarding changing voice by changing language..

I was on English. The voice was a harsh sounding woman.

I changed system language to French. I went to Navi menus, Voice and others.... Still no option to change voice. Only volume.

I changed system language back to English. Went to Navi menus. Voice/others... Still no option to change voice. Only volume.

How can I change to a nicer voice, English please!!

You cannot. Each language has its own voice.
On my wife's TomTom I set the voice to John Cleese - she hates it.

You cannot enable it in MMCS. You can, if you have the proper gear (ETACS decoder) , enable it though the OBD2 port. Door locking is in line 113.

OP, you are the only person I've heard of wanting their PHEV to make MORE noise! most of us have muffled or disabled many of the beep and Bongs this car throws our way!

The satnav woman is like Helga from 'Allo 'Allo (apologies non UK forumites). She scares me witless, so I have muted her and use a far more accurate (with traffic) standalone tomtom with a nice voice, although being told to "turn around when possible" does leave me wondering if somewhere, someone is being told to turn around when impossible.

I find one hour of 10Amp charge (the 3-pin UK plug) gives about 5 miles EV range in winter from empty and about 3 miles when topping up from half full.
The same timing on the medium speed 16A home charger is about 8 miles per hour.

Of course the CHAdeMO shovels it in, 0 to 80% in 20 minutes!

glad you like the car.

Similarly new - Can you set an auto lock when the car is stopped and key fob is away from the vehicle.
Ocassionally I have walked away and forgotten to lock, particulalry when connecting the charge cable overnight.

@spjh, only if you unlock using the key fob and decide not to get in and walk away will it relock. There's no setting to lock itself after x time so if you have been in the car, get out and walk off, you have to remember to lock it. The folding wing mirrors may be a good visual reminder?

aitchjaybee,

You said that "most of us have muffled or disabled many of the beep and bongs this car is throwing our way".

Especially the ACC beeps are driving me (not to mention my wife) nuts, but I would like to shut down quite a few other beeps as well. The local Mitsubishi dealer said that it is not possible to do anything with these annoying sounds, however you indicate that it is.

So could you please give some information on how to kill the beeps? Anyone else who has succeeded in this task?

Thank you,

Leif

hi Leif,
here's a thread called "turn off beeps and bongs" that sort of tells you how to do just that:
http://www.myoutlanderphev.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=1070&hilit=bong
also, for the ACC you can disable the A bit so its just cruise control, I dont have ACC but thinks its a long press of the ACC button not a short press? ( http://www.myoutlanderphev.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=277&p=1433&hilit=disable+acc#p1433 ) if you search "random bong" theres how to turn off speed limiter bong, sharp corner bong, ACC etc
hope that helps
