Driving in eco mode saves fuel but also gates the acceleration and produces a stagnant feeling in the single gear transmission, especially when climbing hills. Can any engineers shed light on why this is? Eco mode feels much less natural than Normal Mode, which has enough torque to make hill driving pleasant, if not exactly fun. Are there rpms series hybrids? What's rpm difference between those two modes? And is Eco mode harder on the tranny than Normal Mode?
