Bought a 1 year old second hand, had it a week now.
2. Model / possible model
GX4h in red.
3. Facelift / non facelift
The car was registered Oct 2016. Facelift, proper handbrake lever
4. What attracted you to the car initially
Wanted a largish SUV or lifted estate with just enough off road ability for campsites etc. Don't like diesel and couldn't face having one after all the scandals. I think the govt will make diesel ownership very difficult over the next few years. Plug in range sufficient for most of our day to day journeys. Petrol range for holidays etc. Able to tow a sensible size trailer unlike most hybrids. As soon as we drove it we wanted it.

None. Previous car a Subaru Forester XT which we had for 12 years and was a paragon of reliability. The PHEV obviously a very different vehicle to drive but I am expecting our overall average fuel economy to be two to three times better!

G'day people,

Anthony from Adelaide... I've been lurking but I'm not "aspiring" anymore, with some luck I'll pick up a newish PHEV on Wednesday. Found a nice appliance white number with 20 000 ex mitsi fleet kilometres on it and ended up at about $31and a bit on road. Of their stock the white up spec model was sold, the insipid road coloured one had been a bit unloved, so we got a cleaner standard 2014.5 model.

Has anyone else had water condensed in the tail lights or have we just had a particularly ruthless detailer at work with a pressure washer? Dealer is looking at it.

I quizzed them on servicing just out of interest and they volunteered to do one, as it has been 2 years since delivery(?) Warranty is current till mid 2020 they tell me. Think I'll do 7500km oil changes myself as cold starts and short runs are dreadful for engines generally.

Ive been raking back through the forums here and elsewhere, can anyone quantify what the current/final/todays word is on recalls and software updates? Did these things get tangled up in the Takata airbag fiasco too?

I've ordered an OBD2 WiFi adaptor and bought the EVBATMON app... that looks intriguing to play with. Who else has fiddled with that?

My only other concern at the moment is getting a decent towbar sorted and adding some electric brake wiring. Redarc make a good controller but I've not sorted a bar yet. As an auto electrician I'm inclined to get factory wiring for the lights but has anyone had experiece good or bad?

Cheers for the reading so far.

Hi Anthony,

I've had a tow-bar fitted from Peddars (Keswick) and they did a really good job on it.

The only thing I'd do differently...

You can get the plug/harness set up so that it turns off the rear parking sensors automatically when you plug something in. I didn't do that, thinking that I'd just turn off the parking sensors with the switch on the dashboard. That works, but it is annoying when you're having to back and fill to get a trailer into an awkward place, because you have to turn off the sensors every time you go back into reverse.

Peddars also took a full set of photos of the tow-bar installation procedure, because they hadn't done one on a PHEV before. Let me know if you need a copy.

Hi All,

just decided to create an account as I had the impression that this forum is more active and more competent than others...
:)

I am living in Austria and will import my car from Germany by mid December.
Model 2017, German "Plus" Version.

Looking forward to an interesting exchange on whatever it may be in the future.

Best regards, Harald

Hi all, new PHEV owner and new to forum.

1. Owner since 15/09/17 :D
2. MY17 Juro
3. Facelift
4. I was looking for a small SUV and by accident read about the PHEV and became intrigued by the proposition. Plus I fell in love with it's looks after I began noticing a few on the road. After a test drive I was hooked.

1. Owner from tomorrow
2. 2017 Juro, orient red
3. Facelift - which? 2017 - yes
4. Looking for electric but still not enough range in all-electric. Also need occasional off-road. This is the ideal compromise
5. Rural Derbyshire, UK
6. Geologist, semi-retired - but still visit mines, quarries, mineral exploration sites
7. Have had Honda Civic and Insight conventional hybrids (not PHEVs), pleased with fuel efficiency and performance. PHEV is next step towards all-electric.

Finally picked up my car from the dealer and had a longer travel right from there.

Starting with an empty battery, I was driving > 500 km and the car showed a consumption of 8.6 liters.
Not too bad for winter tyres, mainly on the motorway. Driving speed was usually below 130 km/h.

Regards, Harald

PHEV selection pretty limited in North America, had to observe from a distance and wait for 5 years. I think I might have been one of the first in North America to get one,

3. What attracted you to the car initially
Had Mitsubishi car (Gallant) and SUV (Montero) when I was overseas many years ago. Have been looking at the PHEV selling in Japan and Europe with envy for a few years. In CT we need 4 wheel drive. This is the only model that fits my budget and offers the PHEV option. Got it January 9 and so far it has been great.

The names Bob and this is my first venture into alternative fuel vehicles. I'm just about to re-enter the workforce after almost 12 months of retirement (which almost drove me nuts) and so I decided it was time to replace my 17 year-old Lexus LS430 which I'd had for 14 years, and go for something that didn't require a mortgage to fill up. Here's the details:

1. January 30th, 2018
2. GX4h
3. Not sure - it's a 2015 MY
4. Low cost of ownership, onboard toys
5. Camberley, Surrey. UK.
