Hi Sam001,

1. My dealer is Lethbridge Mitsubishi but my car is from other dealer (not sure where) as there are no available trim and colour that I want. Also, not sure if my dealer is the one that updated the software.

2. I am just using the app no other remote key or something.

3. I got GT-P trim.

Maybe you can call mitsubishi canada and ask why your car is not starting its engine as it should be. It’s pretty clear on website that if the temperature is below -10c the engine should start. I think they already have an answer on your problem.

Have you tried to update the app on your phone?
Thanks you very much for the info.
I read the info online and it is pretty hard to get hold of Mitsubishi Canada customer support. They give me vague answer and tell me that they will reach out to me within 48 hours but never really does.
I am talking to my dealership. They will contact them to see if they can find any info which will be helpful for us.
Hopefully this problem resolves soon.

Could you please ask your dealership what is the name of the part they need to install first?
Hi Sam001,

I just talked them and they said they have to replace the A/C Amplifier for this update to work. We'll see when it gets installed if this fixes the remote engine start issue.

Any ideas what they meant by "A/C Amplifier" and why that was needed?

Yes I have tried setting to high but the ICE has never started.

When I last spoke to my Dealership, I was told that a Service update was coming. I will be taking my car to them for this or any other update tgey choose to fo as I am leaving my car with them for 1 month while I bask under the sun in Mexico
Did your service update work?

As for an update.

They updated the software and installed the A/C Amplifier.
It didn't work as when it told the engine to run, the engine ignored the command and the remote "heating" stops.

They checked with Mitsubishi and were told to get an ECM (Engine Control Module) that would be compatible to accept the commands of the new A/C Amplifier.

Unfortunately the module won't arrive until mid-March. Apparently there was a surge of PHEVs that needed this ECM. This must be the problem as it makes the most sense.

Sorry it wasn't a positive update, but at least the problem is narrowed down.

I just heard from my Dealership and they informed me that an ECM (Engine Control Module) was ordered but will not arrive from Japan till mid March.

So..... when I return from Mexico on Feb 21, I will be picking up my car and returning it for the upgrade when the ECM arrives.

So no real updates from me either at this time.
