@WolfeRose. You don't say how you recharge but public chargers using Chademo especially only go to 80%. You could buy a TAPO Smart Plug and use it with your granny charger at home to see how much it actually uses, and the car will be accepting about 95% of this at most. Get it as discharged as you can and before charging, when stationary finally use the AC and heater to get the last out of the battery and switch off when engine kicks in.
Easier if you get an android phone or tablet and download PHEV Watchdog and determine SOH. Your battery warranty was 8 years and up to 100,000 miles to be more than 70% SOH.
I don't use ChadMo... I've used ChargePoint public 1772 chargers, on 3.5KW rate; my charger at home has a display of V/W/Wh, etc.; the car itself reports charge cost (divided by rate = Wh), and actual EV range/Wpm = W, etc.

VERY predictably, all calculations confirm it really is taking/giving 6-7Wh from drained. As a 13KWh battery, that is "less than warranted percentage." 90% guaranteed capacity shouldn't mean "after removing 30% on either end to really only use 40%"

Apologies, I did not notice that you are in the USA and you have a different, and very unfair, warranty.

Yes, USA. But my warranty says i should have at least 90% battery capacity under 36K miles... 6KWh USABLE of 13KWh installed doesn't meet that math for me. Factory said it's normal to see 6KWh actually used?

Can you post where is the lettering of that USA's warranty for 90% capacity?

I realise that this is an older thread, but I can't help thinking that you're looking at it from the wrong perspective. Although our car is only 8 months old so not suffering battery decline, I would approach things differently.
I consider the battery system as a range extender. The amount of miles/km's varies too much with all the possible variables.
We only charge ours when we have excess solar (because of the price of electricity here) so it is essentially free.
We always use the battery charge up first and get close to the claimed range of about 70 kms (predominantly highway speed because of where we live).
The figure we focus on is the total litres per 100 km as that is what our focus would be if we were driving a petrol or diesel only vehicle. (We have all 3 options).
At present, we are getting 86 mpg. In winter when we can't always charge the car off solar, we get 64 mpg..
That is how I would look at it... how much better is it than a straight petrol or diesel....

Hi all,

I have very recently taken delivery of a second hand 71k 2015 facelifted model. The dealer assured me before delivery that the EV battery was in good order. However charging it from home last night to 100% at 8degC the battery has given a range of only 11 miles. Is this normal? I was hoping for more like 15-20 miles. :-(

Do I reject the vehicle??

8°C is pretty cold.

I'd expect a significantly reduced range if the battery is that temperature.

Even here in Adelaide, I notice a range increase from winter to summer.

Hi I have had MY2015 almost all its life, & not a lotta miles, in winter I get around 19 miles just heated seats & probably get just over?
I have studied charging a bit.
I have PV solar for also 10 years, PV batteries 8 years, and can stop/start charging to the vagaries of the sun (so it's free!) my battery showed well new, up in the 30+ miles of charge summer now down to 23-7 winter miles (I used to trip it & used the dongle to retrieve data & spreadsheet it!) still keep mile/ charge/petrol record but trust it more now I understand a bit more, doing still 77 MPG. over a year

I have found, if you stop short of a full charge (20% of which is the hidden reserve the cars main batteries keep hidden and reserved, so If you had say 10kW you really are getting a charge of 8kW, which is good for Li batteries!)
On my PV panel readings, when the charge rate is 1.50kWk & I resume later the charge drain on my PV panel shows restart rate 2kW going back on it charges at a higher rate for quite awhile before getting to the 1.5kW rate* so I'm assuming its sorting out each cell better? & I'm getting better real time MPkWh doing it. *just taking live readings! @ 1.5kWh its 30ish/40 mins left?
these were my initial tests some years ago! & are sort of confirmed on a more recent site

I have a 2020 model and getting 21 km on my EV range. Outside temperature -2C to +6C.
When I contacted my dealership about my poor performance I was told that I should have brought it in at the end of each year to have the battery cells 'reset or balanced'. I told them I was never informed about that, so he suggested I book my car in May and leave it for 24/48 hours and they would 'smooth out ' all the battery cells and the hope of doubling my current mileage. The cost $250 Cnd. So I will wait and see.

I dont think you can expect to get much more range at low temperatures, perhaps 5km maximum per charge. CAD250 would also buy a large amount of fuel!

I just had the PHEV 3 service to smooth out the battery and it helped a bit but not worth the $420 it costs. I only get 30KM EV during the winter around the 0 temp. The battery measured 24.7 Ah before and 24.1Ah after.
I suspect if I don't do that service as suggested in the manual, they will not honour the warentee of 10 years or 160,000 KM

Are you driving with the HVAC on? If yes then kms on a full charge is not bad.

Did the Dealer give you printout of the Battery SOH before and after the reset?

Are you using the Watchdog App yet? If not I suggest that you consider it.

The Watchdog App works great for pre 2023 models and you can track your Battery SOH. State of Heath

The battery info is on my bill. It went from 24.7Ah to 26.2Ah. I don't use the watchdog app but I'll look into it.

If it's needed, why is there a charge for them to do it? I'd tell them to whistle for it.

$250 is cheap. A PHEV 3 service in BC just cost me $419. That includes oil and filters and check everything over as well. I assume that if you refuse the service it might affect the 10year/160,000 km battery warranty.
You can have service provided anywhere, just keep the receipts. I verified this with my dealer yesterday when they did my first service...with tax $165. Oil and filter and check all the items...no tire rotation as I only have 4500KM on them. They told me the next service would be $185...so I'm looking at about $400 a years for service. I can live with that so I go to the dealer for now.
