Problem: I can't charge the car at home. I've tried two methods - see below

I have just purchased a 2020 Outlander PHEV Exceed edition, which has 24k miles (with FSH) and other than a few interesting quirks (some of which may be down to me not having found that part of the manual yet!), works really well and is in immaculate condition. The car was supplied by a reputable dealer, but not a Mitsubishi specialist, so they are making enquiries to Mitsubishi UK for support but I thought I would try here as well. I have the standard 3-month RAC warranty from the dealer if needed.

The car was supplied with a fully charged battery, which the dealer did the evening before I picked up the vehicle. The battery was depleted on the journey home (some 70 miles). The battery seems to charge fine using the Charge Mode of the car and also when using Regen Braking. Its possible to get the battery well up to half way charged quite quickly when driving around in Charge Mode. My problem is charging at home.

When using the OEM charging cable I get a green Power light and the Charging light is flashing indicating that charging is complete, however, it is not charging and the Charge Light on the dash does not illuminate. The car is powered off, the Parking brake is on and the car is locked. I have followed the instructions in the manual. I don't yet have the Mitsubishi Remote Control APP registered on my iPhone yet.

I have also tried a 7kw Home Charger, with a Type2 - Type1 adapter. This too shows a green flashing light and is not charging the car.

Has anyone else out there experienced this problem?

Hiya,

You need to check to see if any Charging timers have been set up.

They can allow (or prevent) charging at specific times of day. (Depending on how they've been set up.) While you're there, you should probably also check for heating/cooling timers.

You can find the timers via the screen in the car (if you have one) or via the remote app.
