I had originally ordered a pearl white 4h in early June but then asked about swapping to a glacier blue version. My dealer, Humphris Mitsubishi in Oxford duly ordered me a blue one and would let me know the delay involved in delivery, once the ship sailed from Japan. For me, the only reason for the change of heart was that I already have a white motorhome on the front of my house and another white car might look a bit much! No doubt the dealer has no problem with selling the white one which should be with him any day..
I was always happy to wait for a September delivery and registration so was pleased to be told my blue 4h is due to dock in UK on 12th August. As I posted before, I had found out from another forum member the name of vessel and it was interesting to see its progress via http://www.marinetraffic.com.
So, now I can do it all again (!). For those expecting late August/early September delivery, the ship is the 'Boheme', a Singapore - registered vehicle carrier (there's a few other 'Boheme's' out there), and it's now just left South Korea for Shanghai. I found it fascinating to track the previous ship as it went from port-to-port; I'm sure others will be less excited but if you have nothing much else to do as you wait for your car, you can see where it is. If for no other reason, it keeps your dealer honest with his predictions for delivery. You'll probably need to ask them for the ship's details to be 100% sure. My dealer was confident that after docking, customs clearance is 2 days then delivery to dealer a further 10 days, so realistically a couple of weeks should be about right, if all goes well (weather, strikes, etc. permitting!)
Cheers, Andy
