Hello everyone, I am looking to change my Outlander PHEV 2019 screen as I find it a little small and old looking for 2019 car, the thing is that I know that I will loose the PHEV information I can currently have access to and other information that I can only access via the current system. Also, I don't know if I will still have access to 360 camera and have a good result with Rockford sound system.

Has anyone tried to change the headunit and if so how did it turned out ? What have you gain/loss ?

I am looking to buy the AWESAFE X7 MAX 13" QLED screen.

Thanks for sharing guys.

Hey, please report back if you get something working. I have been wondering about this for a while now.
Hey, after receiving no answer I have decided to go forward with the purchase. I have received the head unit but wow, there's a lot of things to link with the car, lots of additional cables included so I'm planning to look for a tutorial.

I'll keep you posted.
Cheers

Hey guys, so FYI I got an Outlander phev 2019 with Rockford sound system and when I tried to install the unit I noticed that a lot of cable from the car didn't had the entry in the new head unit, when I tried to see if it works I got ev error and airbag error. So I immediately put back the old unit, time lost :* 3 hours approx.

Hello guys,
After thinking about the error I had about airbag and EV Error, I was wondering if it wasn't due to the fact that I had only connect the car to the new headunit without connecting AC part and the other electronic that tells you who hasn't put the seatbelts on.

It turns out that I was right, after motivating myself yesterday, I watched a lot of tutorial to make sure I am connecting every cable to the correct entry and CAN BUS given by the company, and this time no errors, screen is working fine for now, I installed the latest CANBUS update, I have all steering wheel control that I can now even modify which could be good for some cases. I have the rear and 360 camera working, at first I had only the front speaker working but after digging with my cousin we found all Rockford Fosgate settings which was a very good news, I think you can tune the sound even more but I noticed that since there is no boundaries sound could become worst, so I have to be careful with this one.

Would I do it again ? Yes ! The official headunit I had was lagging when using WAZE via Android Auto, the screen was so small and very slow, I can now put netflix for the kids for long trips, you can basically install every Android app.

I have attached pictures of the final result, it's dark because I finished at 2AM :D

Let me know if you have some questions.

Looks great! Did you buy aftermarket cameras? Or is it all working with stock parts?

Interesting.
It looks from the photos like the Head unit has a bigger screen than the Original.
Is seems to sit higher than the dashboard. Is there any risk that this could pose a problem with the (Control Technique / MOT / local authority Car testing) ?

Depending on the height of the driver, there might be some blocking of the road view.

When we were kids we had parents that would actually parent instead of placating their kids with a digital childminder. What's wrong with talking, playing games together etc?
And we had no seat belts or airbags, my mum would light cigarettes for my dad as we sweltered our way down to Cornwall choking to death. Ah yes the good old days :)
