A local dealer here in Utah in the western U.S. Just told me today that the Outlander PHEV is delayed again. Specifically, the representative wrote what is below. Anyone else have more information about available of the Outlander PHEV in the U.S.?

---
I just finished a huge conference call with Mitsubishi and I was advised the outlander you were wanting has been pushed back 1 year in the US. They did not give reasons besides they had to do further testing.

Here is what I can do is keep in contact with you over any developments but according to them at this time the production of the electric outlander for 2017 has been postponed and they apologize for any inconvenience this may cause our valued customers.

Ah mate, that really sucks.

Sorry to hear about that, and also sorry that I don't have any further info for you.

I originally started looking for a car like this, because an online acquaintance had waxed lyrical about his electric Rav4.

(Limited edition Californian thing)

So given that you guys were the inspiration for me, doubly sorry to hear about the hold up.

My best guess? It will be about mileage/pollution claims, in the wake of the whole Volkswagon saga.

That really sucks because I too was looking forward to getting the Oulander PHEV.

If the MPG are lower than have been stated so what. All they need to do is post then Honestly and those that want to buy the Vehicle. I would think any PHEV would do better than straight Gasoline or HEV.

I am in Canada so I would have to wait about 3 months after Americans get them before we Canadians can get them unless Mitsubishi does the unthinkable. That would be to release the Outlander PHEV to Canada first.

One thing is certain and that is, if Mitsubishi fails to release a North American Model in 2017, they may never again do well in North America as other Brands are supposed to each start releasing their own PHEV in 2017.

Chryler Pacifica PHEV is one, Toyota says they will also have a PHEV for the Rav4 and one other Model.

From all the specs I have seen I would prefer to buy an Outlander PHEV cause it uses front and Rear Elec Motor

Will just have to wait and see when and if the Outlander PHEV is ever to be released to North America

Thanks for posting. We were gearing up to have the iOS version of our Android app EvBatMon ready for the US launch. I now think the PHEV is unlikely to sell in any great volume in the US (if at all) as the window of opportunity for the Outlander PHEV is closing as battery prices drop.
