Hi,

I recently bought an Outlander PHEV (2014 model) and I get the following warning messages:

- EV system needs servicing
- ASC system needs servicing

I managed to read the following codes:

- U0428 - SAS (CAN message)
- U1428 - Sensor Cluster (CAN message)
- C1219 - Steering angle sensor signal
- C2205 - SAS internal error
- U0141 - ETACS CAN time-out
- U1010 - PHEV ECU Parity/Toggle bit error
- U110A - PHEV-ECU CAN time-out
- C1555 - Steering angle SNS. out of range
- C1615 - Brake control prohibited request

I'm not a technician but I can follow guidelines! Please let me know if anyone has dealt with these errors before and if there are any easy things that I should be checking.

Thanks!

Thanks @anko! I have already had a chat with the dealer but have a couple of problems. The first is that they are fully booked until 29 Nov and the second is that they are *very* expensive and they can't even give me a rough idea of the time it would take to diagnose this :-( That's why I was wondering if there would be any quick checks that I might be able to do myself. Thanks!

More often than not these types of errors are caused by low voltage on your 12V circuit.

Make sure your auxiliary battery is in good condition and regularly charged (however you do that, either regular use of the vehicle or having a phone paired to WiFi module, both of which means it gets charged from the Drive battery)

If the battery is showing up as A OK, then look under the car for all the grounding points, although ground failures tend to cause high voltage issues, rather than low.

Unfortunately, a single broken sensor can cause errors to be reported by everything else on that leg of the wiring loom.

That kind of issue is very hard to diagnose without the right tools and wiring diagrams.

We need a PHEV version of 'South Main Auto' for these issues.
