Hi, I am a new owner of a 2020 Outlander Exceed edition, with low mileage and in excellent condition. A short time into a journey there are three loud bongs heard coming from the dashboard area, the type that makes me think i've triggered automatic breaking etc (i.e. very loud). There is no warning of any kind on the drivers display, not even a warning triangle. There are no cars or pedestrians around, we are generally 5 minutes into a journey and often it happens multiple times, we are travelling at around 25-30 mph and there are no cars in the blind spot.

The car is not fitted with Parking Sensors (but has a reversing camera!), does not have ACC, FCM nor LDW.

Can anyone help?

Hi Nick,

One thing that comes up from time to time, is 'curve warning' in the SATNAV system.

It makes a loud 'bong' and puts a tiny exclamation mark on the top of the map screen (IIRC)

Of course, if you don't have SATNAV, you can rule that out.

The other most common one is the seatbelt warning being triggered because there is something on one of the seats.

Thanks Andy, I will look at that later today. We do have satnav, but tend to drive with Apple Carplay on the screen. I will see if that is the answer and let you know.

Regards
Nick

I once got a (rather quite) pinging from behind the dash, on a similar MY.
the only notable thing that may have generated this was the fact that.
1: I had activated 'EV' mode (button on the right of gear selector, and blue horizontal lines on dash display)
2: I then accelerated hard to pull out on a main road which made the car start the ICE for extra current to the EV motors.

I wouldn't describe what i heard as loud 'Bongs', so probably not useful to you.

Thanks for the reply. I don't think this is what we are experiencing but i will check that out also.

What satnav are you using, it may be an alert from that playing thru the car speakers. I used Tomtom on my android phone, displaying to the main screen via android auto and it will bing 3 times to alert to being over speed or camera traps. No alerts show on the dash since the alerts aren't from the car systems.
