Am looking to possibly change electricity supplier to Octopus and take their Octopus Go tariff, 8.5p 12.30am to 5am to charge the PHEV. The other rates are similar to what I am already paying.

Issue I have is I am not sure a smart meter would work at my property as we do not have a decent mobile phone signal. I am Northern England. I do have a strong home wifi signal but not sure by what means the smart meters connect? Is it radio signals up in Northern England?

I have spoken to Octopus who cannot give me an answer, all they say is try it and see but thats quite a lot of work if the thing will not connect.

Any advice folks?
