Hi guys

Any ideas on how to reset the Trip [A] and Trip on the small computer on the dash?

I have tried info>trip>reset on MMCS but that reset the info on the MMCS only

Press and hold the small round button on the lower right of the instrument panel, while the trip meter you want to zero is displayed.

Not how I do it.............................I simply bring up the trip using the display scroll button and hold the button for a couple of seconds and it resets the trip.

Doh!!!!! Jon is right! I'm still stuck in "VolvoV70 mode". Yes, just hold the display button in. My excuse - I spent several hours fighting the MMCS system - nightmare! Enough to fry anybody's brain. Why so many options? It needs simplifying - big time.

Thanks Jon and Ray - this was really bugging me so one less thing to read up on.

My previous car was a BMW 520d - I have to say BMW's idrive is much more intuitive than the MMCS but I'm sure once I'm used to it , navigating through the options will be easier.

But I still love the car - it looks great and is also very good to drive

Now if only I could find a comfortable seat position.... :D

Don't get confused by the A in a square on the central display with the mpg and %EV bar though - at first I though this was referring to the mpg over the corresponding A trip distance. Instead it refers to A for Auto Trip data (as opposed to M for the Manual Trip data). The A & B 'tripometer' does not in any way correspond to fuel or energy use data.

Thanks maddogsetc.

I'm glad you clarified. So why would anyone want to use manual trip data?

I'my guessing I should keep mine set to Auto?

The last 3 cars I have owned the trip computer automatically reset after each trip. (think it was after two hours after vehicle being off)
Having to manually reset a trip computer is a surprisingly annoying step back, I like the car to tell me how far we have gone and how long I have been driving and fuel consumption / average speed etc for that trip...

+1 for that last post. As I've said before, my 12 year old Polo told me all that and now I don't even know time elapsed etc. Very annoying! I never bother resetting mine as it doesn't tell me anything useful anyway!

Agreed. The PHEV's trip computer is very badly lacking.
However, you do get the auto reset after 4 hours but it only seems to work for mpg, even though it can't display above 99.9mpg. I reset the manual option whenever I fill up so that I can check my mpg inbetween refills.
Kind regards,
Mark

Surely it's horses for courses, isn't it? The only times I use the trip computer are measuring mileage for company fuel claims and going on holiday to check how far we've driven round Europe - in neither case do I want automatic reset - in the case of the fuel claim, it would be pretty inconvenient. I would like it to pop up a message at start-up asking if I want to reset the trip computer, but the default, if I don't say "yes" should definitely be no.
