We are just recovering from a 5-day power outage in some areas east of Seattle (including where I live i n Sammamish). It was caused by hurricane force winds triggered by a "bomb cyclone" over the Pacific. The winds affected high-voltage transmission lines in some remote areas in the Cascade Mountains that bring power from the Columbia River to Puget Sound. Additionally, falling trees knocked down numerous local power lines (>1000 "failure points" apparently). At it's peak, more than 1 million people were without power. We got a taste of what the poor folks in Florida and adjacent states are going through when a major hurricane hits.

Anyway, the 1500W power outlet got us through the worst - I was able to run my freezer, kettle, induction burner , toaster, and coffee maker (one at a time), and in addition floor lamps, the T-Mobile internet router, a Laptop and chargers for our cellphones and Kindles. For short periods also the TV (for local news). During the day I made a few rounds for errands in Charge Mode to replenish the battery.

Everything worked like a charm. To get some heat we fired up the 2 fireplaces in our house - they run on natural gas.
