New Outlander PHEV owner, local island gas station won't be seeing me anymore! I'll need a little help with all the bells and whistles but nice thing is you can just drive it in all it's default settings and no worries . . . I know where the EV button is though!

Hi Bob!

Don't worry, they'll still see you twice per year, because the car gets grumpy and makes you add 15 litres of fuel twice per year.

:)

Andy . . . really? It has a mind of its own? Ah, well, I'll likely make a few off-island road trips that will satisfy that particular requirement. So it has an algorithm to prevent stale gas . . . what other surprises await?

Welcome Bob.

Might be a Good Thing to warm up the ICE now and then.

To circulate the oil and water and to prevent "things" seizing up.

No surprises will await if you make the effort to read the owners manual

I'm on Vancouver Island so I suffer from the same weather (we got a skiff of snow this morning, first of the winter). The 23-25 models have a 56L (about 15 US gal) fuel tank. The top up message says to add 20L (5.5 US gal) so if you keep the tank around 1/2 you will have no problem adding the required amount when the time comes.
