I have an 2017 modell with 270.000km.
When I bought it at 170.000km it came on fine when using the save function at 50-70% battery. But over time it ended up with it only coming on when battery is empty and battery is at least luke warm.
I've noticed also that regen is really poor until car actually uses parallell mode. I tried checking the Watchdog app and see if there is a correlation between battery heat and parallel mode and there seem to be. I only use the free version of Watchdog so can only see the minimum battery cell temp and maximum. Around 20c minimum the car goes into parallel mode. Now on the winter here in Norway I HAVE to preheat the car so the charger can heat up the batteries a bit. Otherwise my 50km journey to work is only in serial mode. Ive noticed also that the amount of regen is dependent on batterytemp which make sense.

I haven't gotten around to check the battery temps in summer time, but I have the same issue then. Even on hot summer days. Only parallell when almost empty from fully charged.

Is it the battery temp that's the issue? Clutch failing? Or something else?
