New Outlander PHEV upcoming?

Hi,

I've just tried to order a new PHEV 4h in Frost White and been told there is no Frost White stock left and Mitsubishi are working through their remaining stock as a new model is being released at the end of this year.

Does that sound right? Googled it but can't see anything about a new model coming out.

I have been told the same about a facelift. I ordered an Orient Red in February for collection in September but I've only just been told red is unavailable. Not happy as the colour choice is poor. I can now have white, black, grey or brown.

No where seems to have a red 4hs in stock

Which area of the world are you - I've done some googling and it appears UK is expecting new model in 2018 but other markets there is talk of new model sooner although I think it's similar to what we have already and has been delayed in some markets :?

Thanks for the link. I'm in the UK, and it's supposed to be a facelifted model due at the end of the year, the dealer has no info on it, nor any idea of the price! I'm so annoyed as I ordered it to get the £5000 government grant, now I can't have my choice of colour so I could end up driving a £40k car in a colour I don't want.

Sorry, no sympathy from me, I'm afraid - I wanted a red one in 2014 having seen the diesel version but had to settle for white. I've been pissed off since, when 2015 buyers got the red option :twisted:

However, perhaps this is really about holding back production for the US launch?

I was told £5k government grant has been reduced to £2.5k but Mitsubishi will give another £2.5k if you use finance and dealer also offered discount so saved £8400 in end on my deal and was given choice of colours :?

I have sold my 8 months old Disco sport privately thanks to waiting lists and strong residuals - probably wouldn't of left LR without such a great deal although the uncomfortable 200 mile trip I did yesterday in LR took the shine off disco sport ownership

I will be furious if new Outlander appears in a few months and my Mitsubishi toe dipping will be short lived :shock:

I think that greendwarf might be right.
There are probably modifications in the pipeline to allow the PHEV to meet regulations in the USA (especially California).
I think EV range, ability to positively stop internal combustion engine, etc. etc. are all looked at more closely there.
Perhaps the much rumoured increase in battery capacity may be on the way, but I doubt it.
I have noticed that the main Mitsubishi dealers are getting more keen to move their old stock and dropping prices.

I think they called this launch off and said they would try again next year i.e. 2017/18

I cant give you anything specific but understand that a new 17my could possibly be with us end of the year but more likely early next year. It does depend how quickly the run out of current stock goes as Mitsubishi are an importer. Currently there is just under 2000 vehicles ( all models) in stock although some colours have run out in certain derivatives. So until this number reduces Mitsubishi UK would be mad to release any information on a replacement. I would guess and its only a guess that the 17MY will only be a minor model year facelift.

Grand Tourer concept has important changes to the engine specs: "Under the skin is Mitsubishi's triple-motor PHEV system, featuring a next-generation battery pack, three electric motors and a traditional petrol engine. There's an electric-only range of 75 miles and a total range of 750 miles when the engine kicks in. The hybrid system is said to improve the car's on- and off-road ability thanks to the 'Super All Wheel Control' four-wheel drive tech."

That's the kind of range that would make a trade-up really worthwhile. The front of the concept car is very ugly though IMHO.

Actually I think the front, in particular, looks better on this, as a complete redesign than the one just stuck on the original PHEV.

Glad to hear that Mitsubishi is looking into a Larger Battery, 3 Motors? have to wait and see.

Just hope they leave the Outlander PHEV as is except for a Larger Battery.

This Concept Grand Tourer may have issue with rusting of the rear door and Frame cause the rear door will be continually spryed with with road Water, Snow and Salt for areas of the World that use Salt on the Roads.

Existing PHEV 2017 European addition

I had read separately that some adjustments have been made to the suspension, but can't find confirmation.
