MMCS monitor panel stuck in horizontal position

Hi All,

I went to put a cd in the car and now the MMCS Panel will no longer close flush to the dashboard. It is staying in the horizontal position, when you press the open button to try and close it, the mechanism attempts to go back in to place initially, then reverts back to down to horizontal, stating Close the monitor panel on the display. I am still hearing audio coming from it and the screen shows the reverse camera when put in R, but again, it is staying in a horizontal position and no other buttons are responsive.

I fixed mine by squirting some aerosol grease onto the hinges behind the door and into the unit to reach the motor's cogs, then manually moved the door almost to the closed position and down again about 100 times to free up the cogs.

It seems to have been a permanent fix as it never reoccurred, I think the factory grease dried out of maybe got a bit of grit in or something.

Sorry it's a late reply, I only just bought mine and it came with this fault.
