Driving on highway and loud bang/pop came from under left rear side of car. Didn't repeat and car drove fine after the bang and since. Previously diagnosed with transmission leak and slippage with possible damage to clutch but since specialist corrected transmission fluid level, car has been driving without incident, no leaks, great performance for 2 weeks over 400 miles of driving. Taking in for regular service in a week. Any thoughts?

My instinct is that you may have hit, or been hit by, some debris on the road.

I'd like to suggest that you raise this when you take the car in for service, that you ask them to check for any damage under the vehicle.

(Sometimes things like brake lines can be crushed by an impact, and then can fail later because of normal movement of the vehicle flexing the damaged portion. Similarly, road junk can damage a wiring harness, which leads to corrosion and failure later.)

Thanks. I did a visual and nothing was hanging or broken underneath the car. I'll definitely bring it up.
