Hi All, just joined the forum having read quite a bit before taking the plunge. Now ordered a gx3h and looking forward to getting it in January. Most of my journeys are short and I'm hoping to save a packet on fuel. Any tips much appreciated.
Thanks
Dave

IMO Some good advice from Hypermiler in this thread: http://www.myoutlanderphev.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=632

Remember that the fuel savings are averaged out over the long term - don't get paranoid about apparent poor figures on individual journeys.

Another link you may find useful is one on a check list to consider on delivery.

Welcome, one thing to remember is that a gx3h will use more fuel in the cooler temperatures that we have now as it has no pre-heat/or electric heater as in a gx4h and it uses its engine to warm you and the car up.
As mentioned earlier do your fuel usage calculations over the longer term but realistically expect in and around 50mpg.
The good thing is that a gx3h is cheaper and will you will then be able to buy much extra fuel instead :)

Read this before you take it into London http://bit.ly/1EQVwiw

What is an even bigger con is its not a one off as it should be - if it was eligible the first time then how can it ever become ineligible ??? - its £10 a year, every year to keep it registered.

It will, at least, be easier to apply next year when the contract transfers to the new incumbent

All exempt or otherwise reduced charge users e.g. residents (and those with an automatic Direct Debit for the full charge) pay an annual "membership" fee to stay in the Club - as I do for the SANEF French toll dongle etc.
