My advice is usually along the lines of "Just get in and drive" although to be fair, it's other members who have coined that phrase.
I usually have half a tank of fuel or less in the car, and charge it up once per week. This really suits the reduced driving that I'm doing these days.
The car pretty much manages itself, with annual servicing from Mitsubishi, the only things I 'mess with' are adding water to the windscreen washer bottle, and air in the tyres.
The car's software will turn the engine on, when it needs to, or when you need some extra power, otherwise you're cruising around in peace and quiet.
Around the city and suburbs, I usually put the car into 'B5' using the paddles on the steering wheel, that maximises the amount the car uses the electric motors to slow down (regenerative braking) and gives an easier, almost one-pedal, driving experience.
The only complaint I've had from friends, is that the car is too quiet when you pull away. They've suggested (tongue in cheek) that I should have an electric bell that I 'ding' before heading off.
Ding! Ding-ding! Whiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiirrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.
Have fun.
