I enjoyed what BMW called 'comfort closing' where holding the lock button down on the FOB, all the windows and sunroof would close.
I've looked for this as an aftermarket add-on for the PHEV outlander, but there is only one supplier out of china who makes one integrated with the Mitsubishi FOB. ie: a couple of others are available but have their own FOB and are general modules for almost any car with elec windows. I don't wish to carry around a third FOB - the Outlander one is big enough and i have a second FOB for wifes vehicle on the keychain already.
The problem with the desired one is that its stated to only work on Left-Hand drive vehicles.
I've asked several times to them over the last year why this would be unsuitable for Right-Hand drive versions and/or when they might make one for RH. However, they always repy that it is only for LH Outlanders - no explanation, no market plans.
So I wondered whether any of the electrical genius's in this forum might already know why this might be so?
Its a module so should fit anywhere either side.
The looms are obviously different LH to RH cars but the mechanics are the same so its only a matter of finding the correct wires or plug.
What could possibly inhibit the unit from working on both LH and RH.
I'd buy one to try it anyway other than I don't wish to blow anything up and know the reasons behind it first. It may be something that can easily be adapted and overcome, but the manufacturer cannot be bothered for a smaller RH drive market and doesn't want to put any effort into it.
eg: if its a plug-n-play device, then it might only be that some pins in the plug are the wrong way around and easily fixed. it would be interesting to compare the elec diagrams of both a LH and a RH which I'm capable of doing but don't have access to them despite searching the internet. Perhaps someone can assist with that if no other suggestions?
My PHEV is a 2020 ZL.
