I ordered mine in June and I'm picking it up on Monday :)

When I was negotiating with dealers there was a massive difference in what they would offer, 60% of them were full list price and no discount.

Its a case of doing the leg work and hopefully be rewarded. Mine is a rare private purchase, but I got £2500 discount on a GX4h, free mats, full tank of fuel, free detachable towbar and discounted LED daytime running lights (£200 instead of £310). This was from a local dealer without using a broker.

Mostly its a case of falling lucky and making the purchase when the dealer is desperately trying to meet targets. In my experience good deals can also sometimes be had from new dealerships as well, as they usually have more initial support from the manufacturer for discounting to get the business going.

I wish I had known about the online discount "stick" to beat the Mitsu dealers with. I contacted three dealers originally and got the "Mercedes salesman look" - you know the one..... if you need to ask for a discount, you clearly cannot afford one ....

Nearly £4000 off on top of £5000 grant.
