Wife just reported Outlander Alarm going off temporarily (quite loud for 2-3 minutes) when she pulled home charger gun out of Outlander to go into our adjoining LEAF. Anyone encountered this, come up with a way to avoid it. I imagine it will annoy neighbours if it becomes regular, also we don't want to be crying wolf too often but obviously need to deter rogues.

Did your wife switch the power off at the unit before pulling the plug?.
I think if not this has caused the alarm to sound.
My installer advised me to always switch the power off at the unit before disconnecting the plug trigger.

The switch for The EV charger is in a small locked cabinet, which I'm fairly sure is not meant to be switched off except for working on the wiring. This unit was installed over two years ago and has been on ever since. In any case your solution wouldn't work on all public chargers which don't have accessible switches in the UK. ( I'm not sure whether you are based in UK)

I don't think it's likely to be anything to do with the charger lead and it certainly doesn't matter if it's switched off first or not. Seems more likely to me that she might have rocked the car slightly in removing the lead and the movement has triggered the alarm.

This sounds about right I've been pulling the live cable out now everyday for 3 weeks now without setting off the alarm, maybe the car has programmed itself to recognise me.
