Hi, I've been reading here for a few weeks so probably time to introduce myself. I recently bought a 2018 PHEV Outlander with 54,000 miles on it... battery at 72% and otherwise working well. So far I am very impressed with it, and how well it effectively does with fuel management. We have a solar system so recharging when needed really helps. I live in the Sacramento, CA area.
I am no stranger to difficult-road driving having owned Isuzus over the years, and my old Trooper can still go where few other vehicles can (it has a suspension lift, bigger tires, winch, etc.). But I see the Outlander as a more practical vehicle for more mild adventures and much better for long road trips and around town driving as well. So that being said I plan to put a mild lift kit on the Outlander, and go a size larger on the tires to 255-60-R18 all-terrain type so the clearance is about 9 inches. I am interested in any other modifications anyone else may have done to protect the underside, especially the low-hanging battery coolant hoses. I don't mind doing some of the fab work for such things myself.
But I'll post a few specific questions under different subject titles.
