Hi.
I have a 2018 model outlander that does not charge through either external port. The service centre says the ACDC converter is not working and needs replacing. The cost about $3000 NZ. So not a sensible pathway really to charge a battery that only gets about 20 km fully charged. Is the unit itself easily accessable, the fault initially was intermittant and slowly got worse until no charging externally was to be had at all. The traction battery does charge from the engine. In NZ I have to pay extra Road user charges as it is a PHEV even though this cars is effectively 100% petrol which is taxed at source. I have searched for ACDC converter but get 0 results. I think the service centre has erred in its letter to mee and it is the DCDC that is faulty.
Thoughts?
Rob
