    2023 PHEV Tire Issue

I continue to be impressed by the my Outlander PHEV and the decision to switch from all-season tires to all-terrain tires. After some reluctance on my part to look past the (relatively poor) EU label score, I chose a set of General Grabber AT3 tires. As we head into winter, here in Wales, they...

    Front wipers stopped working?

    I wonder… 🤔 hopefully they’ve carried out a full inspection.

    Reverse/Fog light mods

I’ve already swapped out my rear centre stop light for a red variant.

New brake/turn light at rear middle of PHEV.

This is so cool. I was about to have my rear chrome trim wrapped in translucent red plastic to match the rear lights and create a continuous albeit fake light bar. Seems like this ‘real’ light bar is the answer.

    Front wipers stopped working?

Vehicle inspected by Mitsubishi dealer and they have said the BCM or body control module has failed and requires a replacement. Mitsubishi Warranty have kindly agreed to cover the repair in full. Part has been ordered. I’ll report back once it’s been completed.

Any pics of this LED strip light out of interest?

    Etacs coding and programming

I recently posted my wipers have stopped working and I realise now I was searching for the wrong threads in this forum. This was the thread I needed. My wipers failed 2-weeks ago and today was the first time my Mitsubishi dealer was able to look at my car. They had it all day and called me to...

    Front wipers stopped working?

Front wipers stopped working. Absolute nightmare. Wipers failed 2-weeks ago on M25 just outside London. Nearly caused an accident. I was driving my wife to airport in torrential rain, heavy traffic and wipers stopped in upright position at 60mph overtaking a truck. Quite scary. Managed to get...

    Outlander PHEV brake caliper upgrade.

Brakes have been poor since it was brand new. In my experience the General Grabber AT3 all-terrain tyres are no different in performance on tarmac to previous Toyo R37 summer tyres (although I’m aware this may not be a high benchmark). Personally I think it’s more to do with small brake discs...

    2014 Outlander Upgrade sound system

No sorry, these are just pics I found online of the factory rear sub fitted in certain markets.

    Different tire sizes

I have just been told by a colleague that grip in cold weather conditions is actually to do with heat generation. Soft tyres stay pliable in cold temps. Apparently the sipes in winter/snow tyres generate more heat? This must be why I see race teams using tyre warmers before a race. So they have...

    Air Con Issue

Wow, that’s a serious amount of money quoted. I don’t have a lot of confidence in dealers but Mitsubishi themselves have looked after me through warranty work so far so hopefully they’ll diagnose accordingly if something is amiss. Of course, they only respond to what a dealer tech reports and...

    Air Con Issue

Thanks, I’ll have a look behind the glovebox before I take it to the dealer.

    Outlander PHEV brake caliper upgrade.

A seeming lack of braking power compared to my other cars. We do have regeneration braking in addition to the actual brakes but when I’m forced to brake I don’t have a lot of confidence in it.

    Different tire sizes

Here in Wales we don’t have any seasonal tyre laws like in Scandinavia or Germany and most people aren’t even aware of the different tyres available. My basic understanding of tyre (tire) rubber compounds is; Summer (Hard) All-season (Medium) All-terrain (Medium) Mud-terrain (Soft) Winter...

    Outlander PHEV brake caliper upgrade.

I have decided to try a Motorsport grade brake pad as opposed the Mitsubishi OEM brake pads or aftermarket replacements. I have found Japanese company Endless offer a brake pad to fit the factory front calipers on my PHEV. Not cheap at three times the price of normal brake pads and not ECE R90...

    Air Con Issue

My air conditioning (compressor)? can be heard going on and off constantly from outside the vehicle. A generator sounds that spools up then switches off, then starts again (repeat continuously)… the actual air conditioning works well enough inside the car although I’ve noticed the blower motor...

    Different tire sizes

After trying summer, all-season and winter tyres over the years, I found a permanent solution for my Outlander PHEV and fitted mild all-terrain tyres. My local Mitsubishi dealer recommended same size so I chose General Grabber AT3 all-terrain tyres that have so far proved highly effective. I...
