    Beeping lights

Good news! It makes me wonder what function was being triggered by that 'moisture created' connection.

    Beeping lights

The only time I've heard my car making a 'faint' beeping noise, is when the traction battery is recharging the 12V battery. On my car, this happens every day in the early afternoon, at 2 pm, I think. It could be worth checking to see if that beeping matches the beeping you're hearing, because...

Oulander PHEV starting in petrol mode only

It is a constant, relatively high current draw. Extension cords, particularly when partially coiled, can get hot under those circumstances, hot enough to melt insulation and cause fires. Similarly, power boards are a potential source of high resistance/poor connection, which can overheat over...

Problème son sur changement de poste autoradio

Courtesy of Google translate: Good evening, I found an old Asian car radio from when I bought my 2019 Mitsubishi Outlander Phev hybrid. Until then I had not installed it because of the connections which are not easy to understand. Yesterday I managed to connect it but some harness plugs remain...

    Happy Saturday everyone.

My advice is usually along the lines of "Just get in and drive" although to be fair, it's other members who have coined that phrase. I usually have half a tank of fuel or less in the car, and charge it up once per week. This really suits the reduced driving that I'm doing these days. The car...

2024 Outlander PHEV - Engine runs to burn old fuel.

I could not agree more. I was merely providing an example of circumstances where the car software runs the engine.

2024 Outlander PHEV - Engine runs to burn old fuel.

I was relying on the temperature display directly in front of the driver in the dashboard. Now you mention it, it's probably showing the temperature from somewhere on the exterior of the vehicle. This would explain why that temperature hadn't changed much before the engine shut itself down again.

Interested in Purchasing 2023 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV – Seeking Advice regarding battery degradation

Understood. The owner's usage pattern makes a big difference. I had a 7km commute to work, so 90% of my driving was within the electric range. Trips towing my kayak made the hybrid aspect ideal for me. However, I'd originally been researching buying or building a pure electric vehicle before...

2024 Outlander PHEV - Engine runs to burn old fuel.

Mine just did an non commanded engine start due to outside temperature this morning. The interior of the car was showing as 9° C and the 'desired temperature' on the dash was showing as 23° C. Fired the car up and rolled out of the carport, battery only. After closing the roller door and...

    Wifi module and rockford fosgate

If you have wifi running, you should be able to see it announcing itself to the world. Try this: 1. Turn on the car 2. Use your phone or other wifi device to 'search for wifi' 3. Look for a connection point that self-identifies as SSID 'REMOTEnnnnnnn' where the 'n' represents a number. My...

2024 Outlander PHEV - Engine runs to burn old fuel.

I think it is slightly more complex that a simple timer. In my case, I use sufficient fuel to prevent the system from triggering. I've only seen that state about three times in nine years of ownership.

Oulander PHEV starting in petrol mode only

The only other common thing that starts the engine, is the difference between the temperature of the interior of the car, and the 'desired temperature' set on the dashboard, if the car's air-conditioner is not turned off before turning off the car. What happens is the air-conditioner/heater...

Oulander PHEV starting in petrol mode only

If the message is mentioning fuel, it means that you need to put an extra 20 litres of fuel in the tank. If there is no room to do that, you need to use up sufficient fuel to make space before doing that.

2024 Outlander PHEV - Engine runs to burn old fuel.

Note that the PHEV has ceramic coated bearings to reduce the impact of the infrequent engine starts.

I'm also surprised at the assertion that this is new behaviour. Mine was built in 2014 and does this. Can anyone else comment on other year/models not having this built in?
