Is Series mode really that effective compared to normal petrol car?

Well, one anecdote is not data but... ... I spent hours in a traffic jam (State wide blackout took out all the traffic lights), and the car didn't use any more battery than normal. In the following days, I heard many anecdotes about people who ran out of petrol and had to abandon their cars...

Should I be worried about the short driver visibility?

Just in case you don't notice... Check to see if the steering wheel also moves in and out of the dashboard. Mine does, and I only realised this recently. A smaller person may want the steering wheel moved all the way forward, to allow them to sit closer to the dashboard (and pedals).

What do you recommend for charging outdoors?

If you find something, let me know. I've been looking for years. In my case, I'm looking for a box large enough to go over the existing outdoor sockets, and cover a mounting point for the brick, and something to loop the cable over. (Ideally lockable, and with slots at the bottom to allow the...

Accelerator pedal too soft on 2024 PHEV

Hence the provision of cruise control.

    Running B5 and electric

It has been speculated that the engine powers up to allow 'engine braking'. On my model, when you run out of room in the battery, regenerative braking instantly ceases to function. This can be quite disconcerting on a long, twisty, mountain descent, trust me on this. Perhaps Mitsubishi...

    My Mitsubishi Connect App

Just in case you haven't already tried it... ... Try to force your device to do a full boot, i.e. power it completely down (turn it off) and then power it up again.

    Stealth UHF Radio

I didn't do the hard part (installing the radio behind the glovebox). The company that sold me the dash cams and the radio installed them both. The easy part (routing the cable to the new location and fitting the new socket) was less than an hour. :)

    2023 PHEV Tire Issue

Hi Jon, Mine is a bit older, but I had to replace the tyres at a similar mileage because the outer edges of the tyres were badly scrubbed, with deeper tread showing in the centres. The place that sold me the new tyres (Beaurepairs) stated that the wear pattern indicated that the tyres had been...

    Sound generator

:) Yeah, I like mine's Cylon 'oobly-oobly' but I am probably just weird.

    Smoking brakes

There have been issues with older models with the brake calipers sticking. Particularly in regard to the emergency brake (if I'm recalling correctly).

    Sound generator

Offensive? Louder than a regular ICE? Is this the general experience? I'm wondering if someone has installed an after-market 'vroom-vroom' box.

    Hi

Yeah, that's probably my fault. I typically only log in in the mornings and I'm pretty sure we're in different time zones. :)

    Stealth UHF Radio

Yes, indeed. It's an 80 channel UHF transceiver. I think it counts as a 'CB' radio. Primarily, I use it for traffic reports etc. passed out by the Police and Truckers. (I rarely use it for me speaking). But... Very occasionally, I use it to talk to other drivers (when we're driving in a...

    Overall Efficiency

One thing you could try, is to put a cover over your vehicle when cold weather is expected. That could also have the advantage of making it easier in the morning, because you'd be able to remove the cover with all the ice and snow on it, leaving clean windows below. (I've seen youtubes where...

How long to charge 12V Aux battery using Traction battery ONLY?

According to info about my model, the daily top up only occurs for vehicles that have the remote module and wifi.

    Hello

It's no big deal. If you get the warning, you use the car as a normal vehicle, until you have adequate space for new fuel. (Depending on how much you use the car, this could be days/weeks etc.) The car starts easily/instantly, and continues to be hassle-free. There's no need to keep the fuel...

    Stealth UHF Radio

So, I finally got around to finishing the UHF radio install. Sourced an RJ45 pass through cable and socket from a local car/auto parts chain. I removed a blank switch from the set under the driver's side air vent. (I've left the blank attached to the harness under the dashboard, in case it...

Getting Gas Engine to charge Drive Battery Pack with cell voltage is low

I don't think you can start the engine without sufficient voltage in the drive battery. I'm not sure if the engine is turned over via the GKN e-Motion gearbox from the front electric motor, or if it is the generator running in reverse, but, I am sure that the main drive battery provides the...

Car alarm sound in boot, on continuously

Can you get someone to make a recording of the sound, and put it up on youtube for us to hear? The only time I've ever heard a sound from the rear of my 2014 model is when the powered tail gate is in operation. That's quite loud, and one long beep every two seconds (I think).

How to Replace Interior Lights with LED Bulbs in Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV?

Hi there. You can get small plastic tools called 'spudgers' from places like Amazon that are ideal for this kind of small, fiddly work, where you don't want to scratch anything. Similarly, you can buy sets of plastic 'trim removal tools' from car supply chain stores. I recommend having both...
