    Outlander PHEV Sub-Zero Operation Question

Thanks so much, Andre. I'll look for the battery temp screen when it warms up mon-tues. I actually haven't had much time in the car as my wife is working till the end of Jan when she retires and she is always driving it. Otherwise I would know more about it. And we seem to be getting about 50kms...

    Outlander PHEV Sub-Zero Operation Question

I went out late morning today and the outside temp was -13. The car had been plugged in from midnight to 11:30 am. I don't know where the battery temp indicator is, but I am attaching a pic of the dash at the time. The car started and operated as normal ... no problem, so that's good. it went...

    Outlander PHEV Sub-Zero Operation Question

We'll, it's finally drop down to -20 here in Toronto. Actually, not till tomorrow (Fri) and then till the end of Sunday. We park the 2024 Outlander outside, so I'll keep it plugged in continually unless we're using it. I don't anticipate any issues, but I'll let you all, sorry, y'all know how it...

    Outlander PHEV Sub-Zero Operation Question

I have much the same situation twiggy as we can always use our Subaru (gas) car that starts well in the cold. It would be a pity tho as I much prefer driving the 2024 Outlander.

    Outlander PHEV Sub-Zero Operation Question

I think I read in the manual Andre, to keep the car plugged in during cold -25 degree temperatures to help avoid non starting issues. This is easy to do at home, of course, but if one drives and parks somewhere there could be a problem. Dave

    Outlander PHEV Sub-Zero Operation Question

I can't think of any reason why when the temp is below -10 or -15, the ICE system doesn't just kick in and take over. The engine/PHEV control chips can be programmed to switch the related fuel, heating and drivetrain systems to make the PHEV Outlander a regular gas car for the few times a year...

    Outlander PHEV Sub-Zero Operation Question

Even though Toronto weather is normally milder than Winnipeg weather and I most likely won't have any severe cold weather issues here, I'm still ticked off that this crap does happen to what appears to be a well-designed vehicle. The temperature here could easily get to minus 20 or so and I...

    Outlander PHEV Sub-Zero Operation Question

I agree Andre. I'm not concerned myself, because Toronto hasn't experienced minus 20 temps in many years. Minus 10 is about all we get. Having said that, we do have an older Subaru Legacy wagon as a second vehicle when required. It always seems to start no problem in cold weather, however, with...

    Outlander PHEV Sub-Zero Operation Question

I will also be interested to know, Andre, how your battery fares when you have it plugged in overnight on a minus 15 or minus 18 night. I would think it would still run as normal at that point. BTW, do you park in a garage or outside? Dave

    My Mitsubishi Connect App

Yes, right. About 25kms of the 80kms was highway, where it was using ice and battery. But about 8kms of the highway was stop and go, where I always use the one-pedal drive mode, so no ICE thru that part and some good regen. Overall, fairly good tho. I love driving this car, very pleasurable and...

    My Mitsubishi Connect App

Oh yeah, another thing ... I got almost 80 KM out of a 95% charge, which I think is pretty good considering the other electrical draws.

    My Mitsubishi Connect App

Thanks man. Btw, I was driving around today in about 0 - 4 degree weather, so the heater was obviously on and for the first ten minutes I had the steering wheel and seat, heaters on. I began on EV with the EV only start sequence and also on ECO and B2. The ICE was not kicking in. Actually, it...

    My Mitsubishi Connect App

Sorry to hear of your App issues Andre. There was an update about a month ago and other than the mileage tracker being out of whack usually, it boots up and displays fine on my cell, which is a 2017 Samsung Galaxy A8. Very old. I don't have any solutions for you, but I do have a question. On the...

    Outlander PHEV Sub-Zero Operation Question

I feel the same uncertainty regarding being on a trip and having to park outside in the winter. Our winter weather used to get down to 30 or 35 below zero, 20 or 30 years ago, but it doesn't anymore. -35 is about the same temp in F and C. It still gets down to minus 15 C these winters, but I...

    Hi everyone

Oh-oh ... Welcome to the forum, farmer. From what I've read here, you'll like the Outlander PHEV the more you drive it. I recently bought a 2024 Outlander and find it to be a pleasure to drive and live with. And it's so nice not to be buying and burning petrol anymore. Dave

    West London

Welcome to the forum mate. We've only had our 2024 Outlander GT for 3 1/2 months and the members here have been very helpful in learning all the ways it works. We also drive on electric only, most of the time, but the ICE will kick in occasionally if the heater and such are on for a while. And...

    Hello from Melbourne, Australia

Welcome to the forum mnodowd. There's a lot of good info on the Mitsubishi's here, mate, and some of the members are quite technically knowledgeable. I have had a 2024 Outlander GT for just over 3 months now and I'm still learning new things about it. The most recent thing was getting the...

Hello from Norway. 17' PHEV with 270.000km 👀

Welcome to the forum Thomas. It's excellent to hear that the Outlanders are so reliable. From the research I did prior to buying our 2024 Outlander, I had determined that Mitsubishi was a reliable manufacturer, but it's very good to have reviews from actual/real experiences. Happy motoring! Dave
