I'll not start complaining about the shortcoming of the WiFi function here. I have sort of fixed it with a range extender extending the effective range where I can operate the vehicle remote into my house.

This worked just dandy for a week before it suddenly stopped working today. The range extender tells me it cannot log on to the network in the car, and if I try to log on to the network from inside the car it will not authenticate. I have deleted the network from both my extender and my iPhone, and they both give the same error when I try to readd it; "wrong password". I know for sure that the password is correct, I even got hold of the tag that followed the car to make sure I hadn't misspelled the password I had on note.

From what I can see in the documentation, I now have two choices. Either reset the whole WiFi module to factory defaults, or unplug the car and let it sit for 36 hours without use, after which the WiFi module will be turned off and hopefully reset itself.

Has anyone seen anything like this and have any advice?

Hi,
When I first upgraded the Android app, and then upgraded the software of the car as suggested, the app would no longer connect. I had to delete the phone setup on the phone and the car and then re-pair. After not using it for a couple of weeks it again stopped connecting when I next tried. I again had to delete the setup and start again.
No idea if this is going to be aregular thing but what you are seeing has certainly happened to me for no good reason.
Kind regards,
Mark

Hi,
Just to follow up on this. I don't believe the wi-fi will reset in this way. If the car isn't used for the 12 hours before 2pm for at least 10 minutes, then at 2pm each day it will use the traction battery to charge up the 12v aux battery to make sure it doesn't get drained by the wi-fi unit being constantly powered up.
Kind regards,
Mark

Thank you for trying to help out here. :)

Was the symptoms you had the same as mine? Did you get the "Wrong Password", or did you just have a red "vehicle symbol" in your top left corner on the Mitsubishi Remote Ctrl-app?

I based my assumtions about WiFi reset on the info from this page:

http://www.mitsubishi-motors.com/en/products/outlander_phev/app/remote/

But I see now that if the battery is charged from the main battery, it will indeed not reset. I'll give the dealer a call and see what they have to say.

Was too busy during work hours today to call the dealer, so decided to do the factory default routine. (Hazard lights on, acc on, fob lock / unlock 10 times for a total of 20 buttons presses, then hazard off and acc off.)

Waited for a few minutes and then registered as I did the first time again.

Now let's see how long it will stick.
