Using Google maps and Bluetooth at the same time

Just wondering if anyone can help. When my phone Bluetooth is connected to the car for phone calls if i am using Google maps navigation it wont have any audio from the phone with it. I'm using nexus 5x is there any way round this is it a setting in my phone or in the car . Thanks

I use google maps too and had same problem - instructions are spoken via bluetooth and only come through if you are streaming audio instead of listening to radio

I work round this by changing settings in android - go into bluetooth and select setting next to vehicle in paired devices and untick media audio - you will still get calls handsfree but hear directions via phone speaker
