USB music input

I have just tried a 4gb memory stick in the USB socket and cannot get the audio files to play.
The memory stick has around 10 folders containing music in wma or mp3 format. There is no more than 2 levels of folder structure.
The memory stick and audio files work in a PC but when inserted in the PHEV the headunit does not get past 'USB Loading'.
Any tips?

What filesystem are you using on the usb stick?

FAT32
Is this okay for the PHEV?

Unsure, but I think so. NTFS wouldn't work.

I have found a mitsubishi evo forum where a few owners have found that memory sticks can take a few minutes to load the first time they are inserted. I will insert it back in the car and leave it for a 10 minutes or so.

That solved it! Just takes a long time when inserted for the first time. Works great now.
