Smart phone remote app.

I have the Outlander Remote App for my iPhone but can't get it to work. When I sit in the car with the door closed and the vehicle in ACC mode pressing the lock/unlock key buttons alternately five times each does not get any response from the vehicle. Has anyone else had a similar problem and found the solution?

the most common mistake is not pressing the lock/unlock sequence quick enough....
you must FINISH the sequence within 10 seconds....
