So after excited comment, what we have are dedicated car charging bays with a variety of sockets. Some standard 3 pin which will take the supplied cable and some using (apparently) the same type of socket used by caravan sites. Why the latter we don't know but presumably, in a car park, somebody must have asked for these.

If you use the former then the PHEV supplied cable just plugs straight in. For the others you need an adaptor, which has been referred to in other posts about charging on caravan sites (as an alternative to charging the PHEV via the 'van itself). In either case, the use of the supplied cable (as in photos) will limit the charging to 10 amps, so there is no advantage in one over the other.

Presumably, the adaptors shown were obtained to enable the other PHEV user to charge at caravan sites and elsewhere when abroad (assuming the white one is a SHUKO connector) and daisy chains them, as necessary, to connect up to the available socket - in this case the blue one in the car park. NB. this arrangement also allows the "brick" to lie on the ground, and so less possible strain on the cable entry (which we know is an issue). The use of multiple connectors is the only "bodge" here.

The OP could have a similar 3 pin direct to blue socket adaptor made up so he could use this charging point as well but, as observed, will still only get 10 amps.
