hi all, regarding shipping I have paid deposit with dealer middle July, and been told delivery by 2nd week Sept... can anybody else verify if this sounds likely? Bit worried when I hear posters saying things like 'ordered in June, expecting end Sept etc'... thanks :)

We put down the deposit a couple of weeks ago and were also told to expect the second half of September. The dealer was expecting a delivery about now and was not sure that all had been allocated, so he was offering some prospect of delivery towards the end of August, but not making any promises.

I placed my order for the Gx3h on the 8th July and was told by my leasing company 8th October delivery at my dealer, then about a week to prep the car. Don't know why mine is taking so long maybe they are concentrating more on getting the Gx4h in the country.

The dealer told us that they were producing relatively few GX3h cars - Mitsubishi's assumption was that the main demand will be for GX4h specification vehicles.

Email this morning saying should be ready beginning of September then a call later in the day saying that the ship has been delayed and is not due into the UK until 1st week of September so won't get to me till week three. Oh well.

David, I'm in Oxford too and sent you a PM. If the inbound ship 'Boheme' is indeed delayed it's disappointing for not only the both of us, assuming our cars are on it which I think highly likely, there'll be (probably) dozens of other UK customers in the same boat (pun intended).

I originally ordered a pearl white 4H in May and then decided to change to a blue one, which was promised for 'first week in Sept', so I've been in the order-loop a while. I suppose another couple of weeks won't matter.....

Cheers, Andy

Hi andy.
I've replied to your PM.
I've gone for a blue one too, I hope it looks nice!
It's disappointing but beyond the control of anyone here so I can't get too freaked about it.
I have to say I keep worrying if I've done the right thing because this is so far from the kind of thing I usually drive (last three cars were Mercedes CLS, Alfa GT 3.2, Alfa GTV 3.0) and it worries me that the longer it goes before I take delivery and as I read some negative reports on here about MMCS and much worse economy than expected I might get cold feet!
I just hope for my driving pattern it is the best possible solution and, though I wouldn't consider myself an early adopter in normal circumstances, I love the idea of travelling about under electric power and yet having the option to drive to my parents in the North East.
We should try to get an electric vehicle day organised locally like the LA guys!

David, don't be put off by the MMCS reports; I had the same anxiety coming from years of BMW's iDrive system, renowned as being the best out there, but after just a weekend with the Outlander PHEV demo I was more than satisfied. Yes it's different, and takes a little getting used to, but within a couple of hours playing on a trip to Leicester I found the MMCS easy to use, with some minor disadvantages compared to the iDrive, but also some minor advantages!

Thank you Doctor, that's useful feedback. I'm sure it will make sense, and I'm looking forward to getting something a bit different. I even found it quite fun trying to keep it within the electric mode and I've come to the conclusion that using performance cars on the road is no longer enjoyable with the poor road surfaces, speed cameras and daft drivers!

The assumption was probably based on their Dutch experience, with the majority of cars sold being the Instyle +, I.e. the highest specification. However the cause was the tax rebate being the most pronounced for the most expensive vehicles over here, whilst the situation appears to be more balanced in the UK.

The pricing also seems to encourage the purchase of the GX4h mid-spec version. It's only a couple of thousand more than the entry level GX3h but gives you a lot of nice features. I suppose that the safety features you get for a further couple of thousand on the GX4hs should also be attractive, but you get a lot less to show for that extra money.

+1. Don't get me wrong, it's not great, but 2 things you need to keep in mind. First and foremost, you get used to it, and second, it's only software and they can improve it. The frustrating thing is not being able to set the GPS while your moving, but I suppose considering the warnings plastered all over the instruction book that's not surprising.

Exactly what smart companies do - they make a fortune on the base model, because it's so highly priced, but what they actually want is all of us driving around in the too of the range model so we can say how great it is - it certainly worked with me lol. I'm not sure about the 'less to show' though. I suppose it depends on how hard you look and who you want to show as well?

Humphris were straight with me and said that they had ordered (i think) about 12 on a 'sale or return' basis otherwise the wait would have been longer, although when i ordered mine it was still in production.
