Not sure if you are a director or not, but the 'company' needs to submit a P46(car) form to get your tax code changed.
I thought a P11d was a tax year end thing.

Apologies, I wasn't aware that partnerships / sole traders were treated differently for tax on business cars, I now stand correctedIf it is his own business and he is not an employee then BIK is irrelevant (does not apply) and it is the capital allowance (100% in the first year) that is the main tax factor.
