Hi,

any news about unlocking video in motion in PHEV MY17?
Once I connect an hdmi cable to the mmc, if I play video while driving, it stops saying "Video cannot be displayed while the vehicle is in motion" as espected.
I'll like to use TomTom as GPS app, so HDMI is the only option.

Thanks in advance.
David

Hi David,

I just realized from another post, that an HDMI connection exists in principle.

For MY17 with the Apple CarPlay/Android Auto version you go to the menu option for turning off the screen and then push top left corner for 5 seconds, and then bottom right corner for 5 seconds to enter the menu. This YouTube clip explains it: https://youtu.be/6_COL8In6lo
In this hidden menu, I've seen that HDMI can be switched on/off, but I am not aware where a cable might be plugged in?
Unfortunately, it seems that my version of the car does not have this port available.

Does anybody know if the screen itself might have an HDMI port available when it is taken out of the dashboard?

If it should be there, would this allow direct access to the screen while driving?

Best regards, Harald

PS:
Google Maps was not heplful at all, while driving in areas without GSM connection...
:(

Hi again,

doing some search on a well known video platform, I stumbled into this one:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vz9X2nVrRc8

The instruction video shows the clips for dimounting the MMCS (approx. at min. 6-7).

It was done by a supplier of an alternative android device that seems to be completely open for whatever you like...

Even if this looks attractive, I am not sure about the experience with the company. Might be that someone else here knows more?
(Update after some search work: Seems to cause a lot of problems. I do not mind if I find one bad review or another but for this company I only found ads and bad reviews...)

Best regards, Harald

PS, @jaapv: Could you correct the title for better search results? "videio"
