No DAB in Gx3 solution!

MW radio is rough, but the PHEV is particularly bad and I want 5live. Before I went ahead and bought a dabmotion box which sends DAB to FM in car, I thought I have the bits :mrgreen:

Took my portable DAB, plugged an FM transmitter in it and sat it in the footwell. (this isn't going to work especially on the way to mid Wales)

It did and I had a signal all the way, sounded great. (for a mono DAB broadcast and 100% better than MW)

Before I go the FM transmitter route, can you get 3.5mm audio aux in to the USB ipod socket?

I tried a radio app on iPhone through USB but it only played iPod music. I think proper DAB radio is better than app anyway.

I'm surprised you had only iPod music from the fm radio app on the iPod. Ice used them before and picked up fm radio stations without any problem. I'd have thought of you've a gizmo broadcasting fm, this would be the logical way to utilize the 3.5mm to iPod dock connector.
