MMCS software update. Have you done it ?

Since the first time I've connected my phone to the car's wifi, I get regular reminders that the software needs updating but I have held off after reading a report of a car being bricked (maybe by coincidence) after the update.

What have fellow forum members done ? Done it ? waiting for the service for the dealer to do it ?

Can I ask what is the latest version of MMCS? I think I have 2014 A.
