iPhone only "Confirming media" on USB

Hi all, Stockholm calling.

First post on this forum, but I have a couple of Q´s i don´t understand.

When connecting my iPhone in the USB between the seats, the iPhone starts charging.
But, in the display it only says "confirming media" and then nothing happens. I have to choose radio or whatever to get rid of that text. I use spotify in my iPhone but can´t play it this way. Not possible to select iPod in the menu.

However, playing spotify from the iPhone over bluetooth works great!!

Anyone familiar with this? Solutions?

Do you have music on the iPhone, synced from iTunes library - if so how much?
My iPod has 30Gb on music on it and it takes 4 to 5 minutes to read the database into the mmcs - then a MSG pops up "iPod connected"

No, no local music stored on the phone. I use Spotify on it..

Could that be the case maybe? That it cant find any files and locks in that mode?

Hi Daniel, yes this is correct - the usb connection is for transmitting files that are stored on the device, not for streaming data. Similarly bluetooth is for streaming files stored on the phone, not for streaming data that's streaming on to the phone. I suspect the next generation of MMCS would support that, but for now, you're a bit ahead of the curve!
