I'm struggling to find a comprehensive App or Apps that provide clear and useful info on the location of publicly-available EV charging points around the country. When I initially found the National Charge Point Registry (NCR) app I thought I'd cracked it but then I found websites (e.g. ZapMap) showing EV charging points that weren't mentioned on the NCR app's map, and other EV Charging apps that also showed other charge points but which I found less than helpful/user friendly (e.g. 'Car Charging' and 'Charge your Car'). Anyone else found a good app (or website for that matter)?

My research has been similar, and I'm getting the sense there isn't one cohesive database of all charging points.

Especially as some places have them, but don't "publically" advertise them individually. I was at a National Trust place today, and was pleased to see they had a charging point there to use.

I need to find out how one would gain access to it (it looked like it needed a RFID style card - presumably you have to be an NT Member?)

One of the places I work has charging points, is keen for people to use them - staff and visitors, but these don't feature on any "map" thats available as far as I can find.

All a bit frustrating.

I've started to build a list of suppliers who I'll sign up with as soon as I have my car - I get the feeling I'll end up with a card wallet in the car with all the various members cards in to use at different times.

As others have mentioned however, for us charging is a bonus rather than a necessity most of the time when out and about...

Glad its not just me - I agree there are several different maps and apps when what we really need is one definitive one. Which National Trust was that, out of interest? It is a bit annoying when they don't tell you they have them on their own website.

Chargeyourcar has a £20 annual fee but there are so few chargers near me - a few in the centre of town (where I wouldn't take the car anyway) and just one at the new M&S and shopping centre - it would not be worth that subscription. I emailed them to explain my predicament but they said:

"We appreciate that an annual fee may not be viable for all drivers, especially if you are only an occasional user of the charge points. Unfortunately the annual fee was a necessary change to reflect the increasing costs of running the CYC network as the number of members signing up to the service has increased massively over the past year, as has the number of charge points on the service.

We do however still offer the CYC mobile app free of charge which can be used without any annual payment although it unfortunately does not work with some of the older charge points."

As I don't have a smartphone, an app isn't of massive use to me!

I don't want to lug a file full of membership cards round with me! Have just got my type 2 charging cable though so would be nice to have some prospect of using it!
