The maintenance schedule booklet for my 2025 reads the engine oil an filter should be changed every 8000 km in the case of normal vehicule service, and 6000 km in the case of severe service, which I qualify beause the roads are salty here in the winter.

I expect to drive 75% in EV mode, and I expect the ICE to run 25% of the time. This means over a distance of 6000 km, the ICE would have run for approximately the equivalent of 25% of that or 1500 km. My estimation of 25% includes the 5 minute periods where the ICE starts and runs from time to time while driving.

The question is: change engine oil at 1500 km, really?
Nonsense to me.
This is worse than in the 1950's where the oil was dumped every 3000 milles (or 5000 km).

What if change the oil at 24000 km, which would mean the ICE ran an equivalent of 6000 km? Or change the oil at least once a year, minimum?
will Mitsubishi deny warranty repairs if I cant produce invoices showing oil changes at every 6000 km?

Really? Did Mit change their minds? My 2018 PHEV manual said to change oil every 7500 miles for normal vehicle uses.

Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV sold in Canada require more frequent oil changes which is absolute nonsense if Synthetic Oil is used. Unfortunately for Warranty purposes, best to try to follow the guide lines.

When I had my 2018 I was usually 2 to 3 months late in changing oil.

When I had my 2018 I was usually 2 to 3 months late in changing oil.

On the 2022 because the ICE ran much more often I would go to dealer for the oil change 1 to 2 months late.

No issues

But now with my 2024 the ICE kicks in a lot more often at temperatures lower than 0'C even after I turn off car and restart it. Car starts the ICE up out of the blue.

Again I blame this on the Cold weather Software update.

Models prior to 2023 never had this issue because they had Battery Heaters
