Diagnostics/Coding equipment/software

Hi All,

I am new to the world of Mitsubishi, I have ordered a MY19 PHEV 4HS which I should get in a few weeks.

I am interested in changing some of the settings, but understand I need software and a cable. I have been a VW man for ages, and already have VAGCOM and used it to change various settings to make life easier

I am in particular wanting to change how the locks work, (understand its not very useful in the MMS) so when driving, the doors lock, and when turning off, they unlock. Also I would like to have the foglights on when main beam is on, and generally have a look through for other useful things.

I have seen a few other posts on here, but they are a bit out of date, so I was wondering what I might need. I believe I can do things with a Lexia 3 PP200 lead and can use DIAGBOX to change things, but I wanted to check.

You need ETACS Decoder and a Cable (could be Lexia).
You can find all needed infos (what is possible, what not) in the web (look for ETACS Decoder Forum and some Russian servers.

I thought having the doors auto lock is now illegal, having been banned by regulation? Is it too much to press the button on the door and leave the car in its original state? If you mess with the software MMUK will take great delight in refusing any warranty claim to do with the electric and electronic parts of the car.

Dont think there is any regulation about it in the UK. If its because you make it harder for emergency services to get in a car if you have an accident, doesn't matter if it was autolocked, or locked by pushing the button, its still locked.

We have a new VW polo as pool car in the office, and it has the option to auto lock/unlock. When I was looking at my options before settling on the PHEV, the KIA Sportage and Hyundai Tuscon I drove only had 100 miles or so on them back at the start of January, and the option was there to automate it on them.

When you have been used to it for many many years, and the wife always used to say lock the doors, id rather it just be automatic. I have had people in the past try door handles when ive been sat in queues. Rather not risk it.

On several other cars that I have changed coding on for 'comfort' things like that, tear drop wipe, auto windows on lock etc, manufacturers have never had an issue over anything warranty orientated.

Sorry, thats total bull... it is not illegal and you will not loose any warranty by coding ETACS.
