Gord I have mod 24 sold in Canada. After finding this forum, I decided to make a radical move. I'm tired of prying open the door in cold and wet weather. I made a tab from a 1/4" piece of black duct tape that sticks out from the back of the door far enough for me to use it to pull the door open after I've pushed the door in to activate the latch. Hopefully, Mitsubishi will issue a recall before all of us have to use this solution.
I had this problem on my previous ioniq PHEV. The forum was filled with issues as you've described
Can you try a fix that worked for me and even on my Ioniq
Aat the left side bottom of your dash, there should be button that is the charger door lock release. It has a cable plug pic on it. Can you deactivate. I know I did and have had no problems. Please try and let me know.
