I have a 2023 Mits Outlander PHEV, and it always throws a charging fault at both 120/240 volts at my house. But when I charge it outside at any other place, it works fine. I tried multiple chargers but I had faced the same issue. I never have this issue with my other PHEV car (Chevy volt 2017).

Anyone can help how to fix this issue?

Best to have a qualified Electrician check the outlet that you are using.

You may have an open Ground.

Are you connecting the Charger Cord directly to the outlet or are you using an Extension Cord?

I tried both direct outlet and extension cord.

My house was built in 2018. Maybe I am wrong, but I do not its a grounding issue because all other appliances work fine, even my other car Chevy Volt Phev, is charging fine from the same outlet.

My neighbor told me we have buried wires that are going very close to our backyard. Also, we have Transmission lines passing from our backyard. So not sure if that is causing some interference with the charging.

Do you or does a friend of yours have a multimeter so that the circuit can be checked out.

I can guide you thru the testing procedure if you like.

I am a Certified Electrician.
