Two months ago I get a “FAST key battery low”. A couple of days later my car is completely dead. I call my Mitsubishi dealer service center and they don’t know what’s going on and that I needed to get the car to them; so I had to have it towed 35 miles to the dealership. They checked it over couldn’t fine anything wrong, reset computer and did a software update.
Two months later the same thing happened again. So now my car sits in the garage waiting to be towed again to the dealership.
Has anyone experienced this problem?

Did you replace the batteries in your keys?

On my model, the car can still be driven, when the key battery is flat.

You can open the door with the physical key inside the fob, and put the fob into a pocket in the dashboard.

The pocket is in the centre of the dashboard, near the cigarette lighter.

Worth noting for anyone who doesn't know, but never take your key fob to a dealer for a battery change! I did once, and wondered why they took it behind into another room to do the job, and then charged me about £7. I then realised that they must have levered it open with a small screwdriver, so I've always done that since, and sourced a few batteries at minimal cost by looking online.

A previous GM car I owned which I had serviced by my local GM dealership would always replace the battery in the keyfob every 2nd or 3rd service, and when I picked up the car they would give me another battery to take home as a replacement for the spare car fob too.
