There is a YouTube video showing how to do the cabin air filter replacement for the 23 Outlander PHEV. I just need to order the part and then I will do it myself.

As suggested look for the youtube video. Empty the glove box and release the clips that hold the door in place. The door should fall down and you can access the filter holder. release the clips on either side and pull out the old filter. Pay attention to the air flow direction. Insert the new filter and close things up. Most auto part stores will carry the that filter.

I looked at the videos but on my 2023 sel phev it is extremely hard to release the clips, I only managed to do it on one side, and it felt uncomfortably close to breaking the plastic to do it. Wasn't able to detach the other one and I stopped at that point.

Indeed, detaching the glove box can be quite difficult.

My 2019 is fairly easy to unclip the glove box. I have done it several times now that I have 86,000 KM. Going in for PHEV 3 service next month so I'll replace it again before I go. Much cheaper to do it yourself since Canadian Tire, or any other parts store, sell a good quality filter for 1/2 of what the dealer wants. I also replaced the engine air filter for the same reason.
