Morning all, great forum!
Reading a few posts it seems that some owners are choosing to go straight to Chargemaster to get their home station installed, rather than wait for British Gas?
I didn't know that was an option. I registered a month ago with BG and after having had an acknowledgment email have since heard nothing!
I chased up during the week and tried to speak to their EV team but just got given the runaround.
My PHEV is due at the dealers in the next week, so my question is can I approach Chargemaster to install under the grant scheme or am I going to have to wait for BG to grace me with a response?!

Getting quite excited now......

No other choice! The charge is limited to 10A on the Mitsi supplied cable is that right?
I seem to recall a post of yours saying you've done this in the UK? What was the actual charge time to full battery Jaap?

Olev has stopped the funding for home chargers at the moment so it all seems a bit in limbo. There are some people on this forum who will still install them under the Olev scheme, it's just a case of finding them. As far as I am aware you can go to whoever you want to get a home charger fitted, so go with whoever can do it quicker.

You can approach anyone you want; you are the customer!

British Gas have "got an agreement" apparently with Mitsubishi but no one seems to know what that agreement is actually for :?
My guess is it is to market British Gas as the company to install the charging station.

You can choose chargemaster or any other company who install charging points. At the end of the day, the government will pay whoever has installed the device at your home.

I placed my order with my employer's leasing partner and should be taking delivery some time after August :D Can't say I found BG too helpful with their information on the home charger units - was told that I needed to buy my electricity from them, which is a bridge I wasn't prepared to cross... Found an alternative last week though - EV Charging Solutions ([email protected]) - Chris managed to fit me in yesterday morning with a Pod Point install under the OLEV grant scheme - cracking job done, all ready to go in a couple of hours ! Just wishing the summer away now, waiting for the motor to arrive :D

I had my charging point installed today by British Gas. I only sent the form to them a couple of weeks ago and it took this long for the installation due to my unavailability.
Total install time was less than 2 hours and as I went for 16a it was totally free, even though I needed a new mini consumer unit. I had contacted chargemaster but they told me there would be an additional charge for the mini consumer unit.
I am impressed with the service, but as the actual install was by a local electrician on contract to BG, I suspect the service you receive may vary.

We've just ordered the car, but already have a charging point installed from last year by Elm EV under the gov't scheme.

As mentioned earlier, BG have probably paid Mitsubishi for the link-up, but ultimately just get one from the people who can fit you in first.

Jealous your car is coming so soon :p
