    All terrain tires

Great looking tyres. My experience with oversized tyres on this thread; Post in thread '2023 vs. 2017-2022 Outlander PHEV suspension lift' https://www.myoutlanderphev.com/threads/2023-vs-2017-2022-outlander-phev-suspension-lift.6105/post-63490 And additional info specific to my GSR setup here...

    Towing with 2023 Outlander PHEV

Thanks for the thorough account BobK. I have towed an 8m long 1500KG EuroVan 300km on Motorway then gravel road (I limited speed to 90km and 70km on steeper inclines) I have also towed a small cage trailer hundreds of kms with not more than 600kg combined weight. My observation is the electric...

Level 2 charger at home, anybody? What are your thought?

I concur with TheMaiz on the Mitsubishi support on this topic. Advertising a bi-directional capable vehicle but no clue as to the real world on the topic (bi-directional charging is only available in South Australia. Other states are yet to certify the standards for their grid). Very...

2023 vs. 2017-2022 Outlander PHEV suspension lift

Tyre guy just shrugs his shoulders and takes my money :) The Outlander model is 2021 GSR with Bilstein suspension standard. The guards are also all metal without a plastic trim surrounding the wheel arch. There may be critical dimension variations in other models.

2023 vs. 2017-2022 Outlander PHEV suspension lift

I run a GPS navigator (currently Waze) that displays actual speed. I've used this tool in a mix of vehicles from hire cars to the eight work cars I've driven over the last 15 years. None of them are less than 4% and most are around 6% under speed. The translation is that at 100km per hour you...

2023 vs. 2017-2022 Outlander PHEV suspension lift

Cheapest 'Lift' is step up the tyre size to 40mm diameter over standard size, roughly 19 mm lift depending on tyre pressures. This corrects the Odometer ~6% under speed error to within 1km/hour at 110km, smooths and quietens the ride on all surfaces. Current tyre is Continental Sport Contact...

Can the CHAdeMO socket be replaced by a Type 2 Connector in a 2021 PHEV like Eclipse built on same EV platform?

Australia has opted to back the Type 2 connector as national universal installation. CHAdeMO is available in some locations but even Mitsubishi Dealerships in Sydney are putting in double Type 2 Fast Chargers with no CHAdeMO plugs. So can the Type 2 socket from the Eclipse be retrofitted to...

    Towing a caravan

My Van in tow on a recent 300km trip. A picture says a 100 words.... https://photos.app.goo.gl/fZegr82pXyQW3h1G8 Van unloaded to under the weight limit of 1500kg. Used mostly Charge mode 70-90km/h on motorway conditions, fuel consumption 10l/100km.

    Australians down under

Note - this post relates to a 2021 Outlander PHEV GSR model with standard Bilstein suspension; For the Aussie group I wanted to throw in a tyre replacement that is working well so far; Re-sized from Toyo 225/55 R18 to Continental Cross LX Sport 235/60 R18. This adds 40mm to the diameter of the...

    Wireless bluetooth adapter for navigator

I use an ottocast wireless adapter that remains plugged into the usb port and the phone connects via bluetooth when in proximity. the wireless unit requires a reboot occasionally to force the phone connection. make sure you purchase the model reviewed as suitable for your type of phone...

    PHEV spare tyre

I carry a full sized Outlander wreckers spare. Never had to use it in 50K. In terms of mismatch of wheel diameters the same variables can be found in poorly maintained tyre pressures. Unless the axles are locked their isn't a problem.

240VAC inverter to Australian released Outlander?

I have a 2021 GSR PHEV. Has anyone in Australia added the 240VAC power supply to the local PHEV power pack? (V2L enabled)

    freeway charging

Arriving late to the conversation but a couple of points as I'm familiar with the route and have driven 48,000km in my 2021 PHEV. Hope you're enjoying your PHEV. Sounds like you are ideally situated for the perfect match of machine to functional requirements. - the Northern beaches drive from...

Should I buy a used phev or new (2023)?

My 2021 GSR PHEV does a 92km Motorway trip each way 3 days a week to office. (45,000km in the first year of ownership). I get 48km down the motorway before the 10kW of storage runs out. (@ 110km/h). Average EV usage for the 45,000km from PHEVwatchdog app is 80% EV / 20% fuel. Average consumption...

    Chargepoint

The PHEV BMS will regulate input to 3.6kWh (16 Amps) regardless of the supply capacity via the Type 1 socket.

The fuel consumption of the PHEV and how I decrease it.

I have towed a 1500kg 8m long caravan for 300 km on motorway/second grade highway/gravel road at speeds of 80-90km/hour the battery depletes faster than the generator can produce, so I stopped for 3 x 20 minute intervals on charge to maintain battery above 50%. (I didn't want to run out of power...

    Forward Collision Mitigation false triggers

I've had the same experience in heavy rain. I suspect the threshold is more cautious than other manufacturers or due to the reduced stop ability of an ~1800kg SUV. Similar conditions in German car brands not so sensitive in my experience, however, I'd prefer it made me take over if the AI is out...
